January’s Collective Team project for Mirtillamente was planner accessories, if you haven’t seen the blog post you should go check out the team projects.
I had most everything I needed for this project already except for the giant combs.. My regular Fellowes comb binder combs won’t hold all of these pages .. maybe 50 at most haha. So I had to go hunt these down on Amazon and have them delivered. You may spot the cool stick on metal tiles I picked up the other week at Daiso giving the front cover a funky fun feel. The front cover is actually made using the cardboard covers from an old Canson pad, cut to size and punched with my comb binder and then covered with Mirtillemente digital paper from the Vintage Collection. A touch of ink on the edges and there we have my planner cover.
I am not gonna lie, my Elasticated planner band was a bit of a mess. The idea was there, but the actual execution leave a lot to be desired haha. I think knowing now the mistakes I made I would take more time to actually create the attached badge differently… but since it is just for me… ah well lol.
The Book mark was simply a matching card printout of the Vintage paper, laminated and attached to a cool little ruler with some decorative chain.
And of course, as mentioned above… the front is vintage paper, covering an old Canson Mixed media pad cover and some of the adhesive tile.
Now let’s face it, I am not a planner kind of girl…
I recently found out the hard way that I really ought to think before I jump all in and I probably ought to either plan… or run screaming from anyone who is a planner. I am an Aries and Scottish too.. and an Alpha female… definitely not the Martha Stewart, gotta plan ahead type haha.
I see it, I want it, I go after it… If I wanted it tomorrow, I would go get it tomorrow lol. I admit I am impulsive and impetuous, but always with safety and consequences taken into account… but planning… It just removes so much of the excitement of doing things for me. I guess the passionate, creative side of me is just a bit wild n free haha. I know roughly what I want to do, I research it for future reference..and then one day BAM
….. let’s GO !!!!
It isn’t exactly unheard of for me to do a crazy last minute trip and call you from the airport .. yeah I did that on my first trip to the US .. one of my longtime besties kept telling me I would never make it over and I was just placating him when i said ..”one day” WRONG ! haha
I applied for my passport Wednesday, it arrived Friday and my rear was sitting in New York on Saturday haha. Now that was an adventure, what a crazy weekend ..and I was still home in time for work on Monday morning … but that is a story for another time haha.
The fun and scary part of all this is… Li’lManD seems to have my adventurous streak haha .. oh boy!
