I keep seeing memes & posts about resolutions to not shop for craft supplies… what is that all about?
I was given a cash gift for Christmas with express instructions to use it for our blog and supplies… and who am I to argue !! haha.
It’s a rare day when I do as I am told; but the gifter is someone I adore…. who is so supportive of my crazy, crafty a$$ ( don’t get big headed haha )
.. and with instructions like that.. Yes Sir !!! << Don’t get used to that… xxx
“No, I won’t buy craft supplies….you can’t make me do it!!!”
….said no crafter with a pulse EVER hahaha
So yesterday I did what any crafter would do, grabbed my boots and we went shopping haha.
I dropped my neighbor off at the grocery store next to Michaels, so she could go shopping… and we headed into Michaels. I have to say ..I didn’t get any major deals on their huge new year clearance… I usually get much better hauls during the year… but I still picked up some things for Li’l Man D and myself that we will need for projects in the coming year.
I wish I had been back blogging when I did my last haul at Michaels a couple of months ago. I picked up some crazy good deals.. almost $300 worth of wood letters for less than $30. They probably thought I was crazy… I literally cleared out all of their baskets in the clearance section haha. Those were too good to pass up on and something we will always use.
Once we got done there… I hit another store a few doors down. Now I have to say, this is NOT a craft store per se…
BUT I absolutely love this store and I get some amazing deals on things I can craft with. If you haven’t already discovered Daiso… you really should look and see if you have one locally. It is a Japanese goods store, they do have some craft items.. but nothing major…. but you will definitely find items at great prices that you will want to craft with.
I think I may put the felt wreaths away for next Christmas and send them to school, Li’l Man D is in dual language ( 35 kids over both classes ) and they do Christmas crafts in class each year. I think these would be a fun craft for his class to do, so I may make some craft kits up and send them over. One less thing for his teachers to stress over and hopefully by next Christmas, everyone will be back in school and I will be able to go hang out and help out with the project.
Lucky is the gifter you adore! And lucky are us who get to watch you spending the gifted $$ and create beautiful crafts! You are adorable yourself and so much fun to follow!
Thank you…it’s nice to get spoilt once in a while and have someone who “gets me” 🙂
